2 days Nyiragongo Hiking
Nyiragongo national park is located in the north west of Democratic Republic of Congo and the mountain is the world active and violent volcanoes in the whole of Africa continent. The volcano has smoke and fire flames which are attractive and can be viewed daily but best time is during night. The Nyiragongo volcanoes have an elevation of 3470 and it lies within the Virunga national park. The distance from Goma to Nyriagongo national park is 17 km, the park is bordering Rwanda. You will meet the mountain having the lava lake and tragic eruption in the volcanoes happened in 1997 and 2002 the eruptions taken places with lava flowing into Lake Kivu leaving number of people killed and hundreds displaces in Goma town.

Break down of the 2 days hiking
Day 1; Nyirogongo hiking to the summit
Day 2; Descending to the bottom and transfer to Kigali
Day 1: Nyiragongo hiking to the summit
The driver will transfer you to the national park office but make sure you have breakfast at your lodge. The hiking time takes about 5-6 hours and the departure time for hiking from the office is at 10:00 am with guide and park ranger. You will hike till you reach the summit or the view Point of Nyiragongo Mountain. Overnights are spent from the top of the mountain, in the tented camps. Your lunch and dinner will be served from the tented camps on the top of the mountain.
Day 2: Descending to the bottom and transfer back to Kigali town.
After your memorable breakfast from the summit, your then descend back at 6:30 am and it takes only 3 hours to the bottom where the driver will be waiting for you to start the transfer back to Kigali town.
